Library Visit & Wood

What a beautiful day to walk to the library!  We had a great time learning more about our public library.  The students were very respectful as Mrs. Wilkins talked.  At the end we had a little free time play.

Bowie enjoyed checking out the new scenery.

We started a new unit on wood.  Here we are seeing if we can make it sink using some paperclips and rubber bands.  Finally someone attached 20 paperclips and the wood sunk to the bottom.  I loved hearing the conversations that were taking place and their thinking.

We also observed how the wood changes when we put water on it.

Last Friday we had our monthly PBIS assembly in which students are recognized for being responsible, respectful and safe.  We enjoyed individual ice cream sundaes and 6 lucky students were able to put toppings on Mr. Poock and make him into a sundae.  It was a fun time!
