September 30th Post #2

Another activity we did in math was make shapes with our bodies.  Can you tell what shapes we are making?

McGruff the Crime dog came yesterday and talked to us about safety.

What a fun time we had today in our friendship groups.  We played some games, dyed our shirts and enjoyed popcorn together.

Make sure to scroll down to see the rest of today's post.  Have a great weekend!

September 30th Post #1

Here we are graphing our birthday months on the Smartboard. I just love using the smartboard and probably use it every day.  The kids are really getting the hang of it and moving objects on it really well.

Last Friday we met with our second grade reading buddies.  We did it again today and hope to do it every Friday.  Right now the 2nd grade friends are reading to us, but as we grow with our reading words, we will read to them as well.

One of our projects in math this week was making shape collages.  We looked through magazines and found certain shapes and glued them on the larger shape.

Today we celebrated Hannah's birthday (although her birthday was yesterday) due to the early out.  She opened her birthday ball and in the center found a smurf figure.

Week of September 19th

So I just whipped up this blog last night around 10:00.  Still LOTS to do, but at least you can see the most important thing, YOUR KIDS!   Here are a few pictures from the week.  I will be working on the blog more this weekend.

This week Ms. Pam (Washington County Naturalist) came and visited out class.  She read us a book that went through the alphabet with different skulls.  The kids had a great time guessing what animal the skull was representing.  At the end she passed around 4 different skulls for the kids to touch and hold.

We celebrated Laurelin's birthday this week.  Here she is opening her "birthday ball" and finding out what is inside.

We experienced lots of hands-on math activites this week.  Here we are sorting coins into different categories.

Working on our numbers with paint dabbers.
