Foster Woods & Tie Dye

We had a great day at Foster Woods on Monday. The weather was perfect and we had fun exploring the woods.

Pam is giving us instructions on what to look for during our scavenger hike.

We played a game called "hug a tree" where one friend was blindfolded and the other friend led them CAREFULLY to a tree.  After hugging and touching it, then went back to the shelter, took off the blindfold and tried to guess what tree they were touching.

A great morning to tie dye our shirts.  I'm excited to see how everyones turned out.

First few weeks of Kindergarten

Our first blog post of the year.  Lots to share with you...

We are loving having the schools Professional Therapy Dog in our classroom for a majority of the day.  He just roams around and the students do a great job knowing when it's ok to pet and when he needs to be left alone.

We read The Rainbow Fish and talked about sharing and how that makes us feel.  Then we painted a rainbow fish ourselves and made a shiney scale.

Mrs. Bender, our school counselor, introducing us to Tuggles the bear.

Mrs. Seward introduced us to iPads.  We will be using these when we start centers.

Bowie taking a much deserved break :)

On Thursdays we have a special guest reader from the Wellman Public library come and read us stories.

Heres our class!!!

Practicing "read to self".  The students each have a book bag which they take to their special spot.  They are to read the whole time, stay in one spot and use a level 0 voice (which is no talking). They are doing a great job with this.
