Final Day of Reading Week

We had a great last day to our busy "Read Across America" week.  We went to the library and decorated cupcakes.  We also made green eggs and ham.  Thanks to Erin's mom for coming in and assisting us with that adventure!  All but 2 of us liked green eggs and ham!!!

Dr. Suess Week

One of the activities this week is a door decorating contest with each of the classrooms.  The theme was "Grab Your Hat and Read with the Cat."  Here is a picture of KA's door.  I used an app and took the kids pictures.  They loved it and laughed and laughed at themselves.  This week the app is on sale and it is free (I paid $2.99 for it)  Anyway, click here to check it out if you have an ipad.

Friendship Groups for Healthy Iowa

Thursday morning for our friendship groups we met and did some dancing for Healthy Iowa.  All the groups did different songs and activities for about 20 minutes, then we met in the gym as a whole school to do "The Dinosaur Stomp" and "Cha Cha Slide."  The kids had a BLAST.  In fact on the way back to the room I heard a couple little kiddos talking and they said "This is the best day ever!"  How cute is that?!?!?!  Here is a video I made up to show you what fun kids and staff Wellman Elementary has!!!  (if it is fuzzy, make sure you click the gear and change your setting to 720HD.)

Valentines Day

We had a super fun Valentines party, I hope you heard all about it.  We had some wonderful snacks (thank you so much to all who provided for our party!), played musical hearts and then opened our Valentines
