AND more december Fun

Today we did a few more Grinch activities, then we had the very exciting Christmas Party.  The kids had so much fun ~ I just love to witness the excitement this time of the year brings.  We had a nice snack (thank you so much to everyone who provided!) and then we broke the pinata's.  I included videos so you could witness for yourself!  We had lots of goodies this year thanks to all the wonderful donations!  For those who were not there, the students and I created you a goodie bag as well.  They were so sweet about sharing and making sure they had some of each item.

Have a wonderful break and Christmas!!!!

More December Fun

We spent time this week talking about Mexico and how they celebrate December by breaking a Pinata.  We decorated our own pinatas that we will break at our Christmas Party.

A 4th grader reading us a story before school starts.

On Wednesday we enjoyed a movie in the gym with some popcorn and juice.

Bowie getting some love.  :)

Today we went on a hunt using an app called Metaverse.  We went around the school with clues and worked on CH words, as in the word Grinch.  The students did a fantastic job sounding out the words and figuring out where we needed to go to find the next clue.  I hope they shared with you something from this experience.  At the end we found that the Grinch had left us some green candy canes.

We had a visit from Santa!!!  What excitement!

For our snack we had sprite with Mint ice cream (yummy!), vanilla pudding with green food coloring, and Grinch kabobs.

What a super fun and exhausting day!!!!

December Fun!

What a fun week!!!  First we had a visit from Pam and made bird feeders with lard, bread and seed.

We enjoyed watching Junie B. Jones is not a Crook after reading the book.  We had a blast and learned a lot about comparing and contrasting.

Who thought using tape measurers could be so much fun??!!!  It was a little but of a learning curve, but soon they were doing a great job lining the tape measure up and measuring how long each gingerbread man was.

We had a special read-n-feed while we munched on some Christmas cereal.

To end our study on how others celebrate holidays in December in Germany, we made edible Christmas trees.  So. Much. Excitement.

St. Nick made a visit from the Netherlands and gave us a little treat in our shoes.  ;)
