Dogs, Dogs, Dogs...

We have had some special friends visit us these last few weeks.  Chloe brought in her dog a few weeks ago, then Brooklyn had a special friend bring in their dog.  She was so fast and all over the children I couldn't even get a good picture of her.

Chloe's mom brought these in to show me because she might know I like, ok love, dogs.  How cute are these Bulldogs!

Bo introduced us to Ruby, his brand new little puppy.  We learned that they are going to puppy Kindergarten.  She already was able to show us a command she has learned "sit" ~ for a treat of course.  I wish the picture wasn't blurry because she is just so cute!

When Mr. Poock's dogs, Lola and Karma, got wind of all the fun we have been having in school and all the special visitors we have had, they felt a little left out.  Being the good daddy he is, Mr. Poock brought his pups to visit Wellman Elementary.

Lola got a little embarrassed and buried her head when Mr. Poock told us she likes to eat a lot and her favorite food is cheeseburgers.  :)

Day 100 Part 2

Here is a video of our Day 100 Fashion show.  Thank you so much for your efforts in creating the shirts.  The kids had a wonderful time and I'm sure it was a highlight of the year.  They were all so creative and each had a special touch to them.  Here is what everyone wore…

Miss Shelli and Miss Dee ~ HANGING out 100 days in KA ~ very clever!  (they have clothes hanging out on a clothesline.)

We sorted our 100 collection into groups of 10.  I loved hearing them count over and over!  It was a great day!

Handyman Jake screwed in 100 screws for his name.

Part 1 ~ Day 100

Lots of fun activities today ~ and we are just beginning.

We searched for Hershey Kisses that had a number on the bottom.  We matched them up on out 100 chart.  They did a great job finding the numbers.

We also had 6 different centers that focused on 100.  In this center the students rolled a dice then dabbed with a bingo dabber that many spots trying to get to 100.

This was probably the favorite center.  Building a structure with 100 cups.

Here we worked on a 100 piece puzzle.

Painted with q-tips, making 10 groups of 10.

We also put paper links together to make a chain all the way to 100.  Each group of 10 was a different color.

We put cubes together to make a 100 cube train.

More fun will continue tomorrow!

Math QR code fun

We are all getting adjusted to our school routine again after our winter break AND snow days!  We've spent the past few days reviewing our PBIS expectations for the bathroom, hallway and lunchroom.  Children are earning lots of tickets for being responsible, respectful and safe in these areas!

You never know how a technology lesson might go in Kindergarten.  Thankfully this one went great and the kids were all engaged in learning.  We used the ipad mini's to scan a QR code.  A number appeared on the iPad.  They filled in the ten frames to represent the number and then they wrote the number.  We worked on the concept that teen numbers are 10 PLUS some more.
