Week of December 22nd

Here are a few pictures from our last week of school before break.

I am sure some of you heard about our Elf friend, Chippie.  He brought each of us some Hershey Kisses, and he ate some himself :)

While learning about Hanakuh we played the dreidel game.

Finally the big day was here ~ our Christmas party!!!!

Week of December 12

Another fun week in kindergarten has passed.  We had lots of new fun centers this week including the one below.  Jason is rolling 2 dice and either adding or subtracting gumdrops from the gingerbread man.

Jacob and Dylan are making a Christmas tree with an ice cream come, frosting and lots of messy sprinkles.

A fun math activity where we sorted and graphed m and m's.  (eating some along the way of course)

In preparation for our party, we are making our own Pinata to break next Thursday.

Have a great weekend!  We are really needing glue sticks, so if you could bring some that would be great!

Week of December 4th

Here are some pictures from our field trip.  They are a little out of order, but you can still see all the fun we had.  (if you click on a picture, they will show up bigger and you can scroll through them.)
We watched a movie of Disney classics.
This was our first tree to look at.
Nora wanted to make sure I got a picture of her eating her sandwich :)

We had sack lunches in the room before we left.

We crossed a bridge like the Billy Goats Gruff.  Dylan spotted the troll by the bridge.

This was my favorite tree.

All of the trees had a fairy tale theme.  This one below was Goldilocks (notice the small chair on top?)

Little Red Riding Hood
Little Mermaid
Another favorite was the Wizard of Oz.  This tree was upside down and we could see Dorothy's ruby red slippers.

Next we got to hear a story.

This week we have been talking about how different places all over the world celebrate holiday's in December. We have talked about Germany and that they put one of their shoes out for St. Nick to fill.  During rest we put a shoe by the front door of the school, and low and behold, we each got a candy cane and gold chocolate coin.  I think they really enjoyed this.

Please leave comments, or send an email and let me know what the highlights of the week were.  I love to hear what the kids are enjoying.  We had a lot of fun this week.

Have a great weekend!
