Day 100!!!!!

Day 100 is always such a fun day with so much to do.  We started the day with Day 100 centers.  We painted with Q-tips by 10's, put together a puzzle that had 100 pieces, stamped up to 100, made a 100 cube train, built a structure out of 100 solo cups, rolled a dice and paint dabbed that many spots and made a 100 link paper chain.  They did fantastic at all the centers!

We had a trail mix snack in which the students took 10 pieces of each item.  Thanks so much to everyone who provided the snacks.

Here we are in our 100 day shirts.  I loved the creativity as did the students!  Nice work families.  (Note to self ~ take pictures next year at the beginning of the day because at the end they don't have nearly as many still on their shirts :)

Kennedy had 100 butterflies.

Landon had 100 words.

Gunner had 100 square patches sewn on his shirt.

Evan has 100 Minion stickers.

Kylee has 100 stars.

Alex has 100 felt squares to make a Minecraft creeper.

Reid has wiggly eyes and his shirt says "All eyes on Reid".

Emma made 100 "E's" and dots.

Lacey has 100 wiggly eyes.

Collins has 100 pom poms.

Malley has 100 bubbles.

Brian has 100 stickers.

Zion has 100 popcorn pom pom's and his shirt says "100 days have popped on by".

Luke has 100 school supply stickers.

Sawyer has 100 wiggly eyes.

Oaklee has 100 buttons that say 100 and her last name.

Preston has 100 wiggly eyes to make a monster.

Latasha has 100 bandaids.

To finish off the day we had a fashion show with KB.  They walked down the runway and up on the stage.  I think the students had a terrific Day 100.  We didn't get to everthing I had planned, so we will continue our 100 activities next week.

Grinch & Santa

This is how we get our energy out during these exciting days in December!

We had a surprise visit from Santa today.  This was our PBIS reward for filling our container with tickets for being respectful, responsible and safe.  He brought us a gift (class book), hot chocolate and a cookie.  What a great way to start the day!

Later in the day we had our Grinch snack which included vanilla pudding with green food coloring and sprinkles, and 7UP with lime sherbert.  What an exciting day!!!!!

Birdfeeders

Pam Holtz came and helped us make some feeders to feed our furry friends in the winter.  We used some shortening, bread and seed.  The best part was mashing it up and putting it in a cookie cutter.  What a fun and messy project!

We also had some more fun activites with Mrs. Seward to stretch our brains and thinking.  We focused on the word PERSISTENCE when using some gumdrops and toothpicks to build a tower that would support a book.  Lots of great conversations and thinking happening during this activity!

What a day!!!

Some of the best Birthday Treats come from Hurt's Donuts.  Thanks so much Alex for bringing your friends cookie monster donuts!

We also had a great time with Mrs. Seward traveling to the zoo with google expeditions.  We saw some Polar Bears, Rhinos, Giraffes and elephants.  They had so much fun.  Enjoy the video and make sure to watch until the end :)

Last week Pam H. came and talked with us about animal families.

Lastly, we had a special package from the North Pole today.  You can watch the video and judge for yourself, but I think it's safe to say they were pretty excited!  We took a vote and our new special visitor is named Snowflake!
